“He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.” Psalm 147:4 (NIV)
Look at the complexity of creation. Our God designed all of this. He made your cells and the countless stars in our galaxy. One could spend a lifetime, or a thousand lifetimes studying His creation and trying to understand what God created when He brought life out of the darkness. He even gave us free will, so that we might chose to love Him for ourselves.
I love this verse from the Psalms because it represents two very real sides of God-the Creator and the Caretaker. It can be very easy to know God as the Creator, especially when one studies the complexies of life and science. But He also has named the stars and knows how many hairs you have on your head. Our God is the great Caretaker, who loves us more than we can imagine.
Take a minute today to spend time with God, our Creator, our Caretaker, our Savior. He created you and cares for you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being our Creator and our Caretaker. Help me to know you personally and walk with you in my day-to-day. Amen.
