“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1 NIV
Have you ever been dehydrated? Feeling like no amount of water would quench your thirst? When you’re feeling dehydrated and you pour a glass of cold water out of the faucet, there is nothing like it. What if we thirsted for God like that? David did. He prayed this prayer in Psalm.
His prayer resonates because this world is so dry and parched without God. Without God, nothing in this world is good or true. It is like the hot, dry sand in the desert. Are you sinking in the sand? Call out to God today and drink from the real, living water.
Prayer: Dear God, hydrate me with your Spirit and your Words. Give me peace and love to sustain me in this world. Give me the strength to share when I see others in need of you, Amen.
